    Smart plug bricked

    en General Discussions

After flashing the wifi configuration using esphome on a new smart plug, it stopped working. The flashing went okay but now the led is not coming up at all and no wireless network is there. Anything I can do to unbrick it ?

Does your esphome configuration include the ap configuration. It will default to this if it can not connect to WiFi after a number of attempts. You can check if you see a wireless network available to connect to, which will allow you to reflash.

Failing that you would need to open the plug, which I DO NOT RECOMMEND for safety reasons, and start soldering and flashing manually. The case will not be sealed and could result is injury or death if used subsequently.
