hello,
I had the same problem with three Athom 1Gang EU Swich.
That the touch button did not respond. And so I fixed it.
First I updated Tasmota to the latest version via OTA.
But the problem remained.
Then I took out the template and tried the configuration directly via Generic.
Problem remained.
Then I completely reset the configuration.
After restarting the device I was unable to connect to the Tasmota AP.
It was there but I couldn't connect to the Tasmota AP.
I have exactly this issue too. I contacted support & they replaced the unit... but the replacement does the same thing. Their response: not a problem when we tried...
For my new house I've already bought four 4 gang switches. Now I am confused:-(. Time is very important for me because I was planning to move to a new home later this year.

That's why I turned off the power of the switch.
The Tasmota AP could then be reconnected.
Configured via Generic without template.
Problem is gone.
I repeated the procedure on the other switches.
All switches work.
I hope this helps you.

Has anyone actually figured out this issue?
I have the same issue with my single no-neutral touch switch.
A firm press is not registered, a very brief, light tap will occasionally switch the light. Switching via the web UI works fine.
It is running tasmota 8.5.0 build date 2020-10-10.
Can the touch pad be recalibrated, or perhaps a different firmware?
Thanks!
