LS4P-WLED Keeps Losing Connection and/or Rebooting

    en WLED Related

My LS4P-WLED keeps on either losing connection so I can't do anything to it or completely rebooting. I've tried multiple versions of the WLED firmware and noticed that the system info says it's an ESP 8266 environment, but the bin files for the 8266 do not work on this controller. The ESP02 bin files do work though (and Home Assistant said it was an ESP02 as well).

Currently it's on WLED 0.13.0-b6 which I believe is what came on it. I installed 13.1 on it before doing anything else, originally. So I'm wondering if maybe the bin files available on the WLED github are the wrong ones to use for this device.

Or maybe the wires aren't connected securely enough, but they certainly seem to be and we've experimented with that quite a lot.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try next?

I keep forgetting to bring home the multimeter but it has quit rebooting on it's own and I don't know why. But it still occasionally glitches out and the lights change to strange colors. And sometimes it becomes inaccessible in the web browser. "Can't connect to lights" I think is what it says when that happens if I already had it pulled up. I put it on a smart plug and set Home Assistant up to switch it off and on when that happens to fix, but that shouldn't be necessary.

And I'll try to find a multimeter tomorrow to test the voltage, but I don't think that's the problem. Still a good idea to test it though.

I've been using that bin last night and today and it certainly works better than the others.

The restarts seem to happen if I try to tell it to complex effects. When I watch the info and it restarts, I've noticed the available heap is really low, like below 7kb. Could it be restarting because it runs out of heap space?

Regarding restart, you should check if the supply voltage is below 5V
